DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego’s Temporary Employment Services department is pleased to announce a new opportunity for a Training Coordinator/Facilitator. This role focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge of UC San Diego staff through the coordination and facilitation of dynamic training programs and individual career development plans. The successful candidate will be pivotal in shaping our educational landscape, ensuring our staff are equipped to meet the challenges of their roles efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyze training needs across departments to develop tailored training strategies.

* Organize, plan, and implement a variety of training programs, including new staff orientation, on-the-job training, in-service education, and health and safety training.

* Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements based on feedback and analysis.

* Create and revise support manuals and training materials to keep pace with changing needs and standards.

* Serve as the backup to the Training and Development Manager, assisting with the coordination of HR activities for assigned divisions.

  • Anticipated duration: 5 months
  • Compensation: $29.60 - $34.48 / hour, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
  • Location: Hybrid/remote, on-site Mon - Thur; remote on Fridays. On-site work will be at the main La Jolla campus.
  • Work schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience delivering training programs and conducting needs assessments.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in identifying educational and training needs for individuals and groups.

  • Proficiency in the design of learning experiences and application of appropriate media for effective adult training programs.

  • Ability to understand how business needs can be addressed through the design and delivery of training programs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of delivering training programs to diverse audiences.

  • Experience providing group, on-the-job, and one-on-one training to staff.

  • Skilled in writing and preparing educational and instructional materials and manuals.

  • Skill and creativity to conceptualize and coordinate training programs that recognize consistent and constant changing work patterns.

  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and education methodologies.

  • Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $61,800 - $108,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $29.60 - $51.72

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
