DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the on-duty charge nurse, the hospital telemetry technician carries out dysrhythmia monitoring responsibilities. As needed, the hospital telemetry assistant will participate in other patient care-related duties within the unit under supervision. The telemetry technician will call for additional assistance as needed.

This dual hybrid position requires direct patient care and remote cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation. Duties include assisting with bathing, performing routine skin care, and additional care as directed by the RN. Observes patient, preventing them from pulling out medical tubes/equipment. Prevents patients from harming themselves. Observe the patient's cardiac rhythm, report all variances to the nursing staff, and document rhythm strips.

10 West ICU is a 13-bed mixed Medical ICU/Coronary Contained Unit specializes in Pre-Cardiac Transplants, Congestive Heart Failure, Acute MI, CRRT, neurological patients and complex ventilation using the latest equipment and technologies. The unit is actively involved in promoting community health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a Telemetry ECG technician program, Telemetry Tech orientation, or EKG Class.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.Recent Telemetry Technician experience.

  • A passing score on the ICU Telemetry Exam (to be completed during the interview process if selected).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with all levels of staff and patients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One (1+) or more years of Telemetry Tech experience.

  • Previous patient care experience.

  • Recent acute care CNA experience is highly preferred.

  • EMT certification and/or experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $51,448 - $63,935 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $24.64 - $30.62

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
