DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, perform duties relating to technical research services which will include various research and special projects as directed by campus veterinarians.
Focus on specialized behavioral tests, metabolic tests, and imaging procedures for the assessment and evaluation of animal phenotypes for investigator clients of Animal Care Program Rodent Phenotyping Core. Perform standardized tests based on research needs of investigator clientele.
Maintain testing protocols and standard operating procedures for Rodent Phenotyping core. Devise updates to standard testing protocol by researching scientific methods and published literature. Perform technical duties related to Rodent Phenotyping Core - including scheduling, coordinating research activity, maintain core rooms and equipment in good working order.
Work with other areas of Animal Care Program for scheduling and organization of animal studies. Perform database input and generate analysis reports for clients and staff veterinarians.
QUALIFICATIONS
Theoretical knowledge of biology and the necessary skills and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties or a combination of education and experience.
Proven experience and skill handling small rodents.
Ability to organize and coordinate a variety of tasks.
Proficient skill and experience using Excel.
Strong ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to follow laboratory policies and procedures. Ability to follow all necessary safety procedures.
Theoretical knowledge of basic anatomy of common laboratory species. Skills in basic collection techniques and sample collection methods.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $60,301 - $97,008 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $46.46
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
