This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.
DESCRIPTION
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences is conducting research studies to identify predictors of poor pregnancy outcomes, test the performance of novel diagnostic and prognostic tests for pregnancy complications, and test the safety and efficacy of therapeutics for prevention and treatment of pregnancy complications. Additionally, we are conducting quality improvement initiatives based on our internal data.
Under direct supervision, acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Independently acquires and applies additional skills and knowledge of professional concepts in clinical informatics to complex projects. Responsibilities include: obtain training necessary to query data from the Clarity Clinical Data Warehouse (CDW) and perform queries of this database for research or quality improvement studies; obtain training necessary to build and maintain new and existing databases in the REDCap environment; batch import and clean data queried from the CDW into REDCap. Perform advanced statistical analysis using standard statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, R or STATA, prepare graphs/charts, write reports, participate in preparation of abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, and grant applications.
Works on research data reporting assignments that are of moderate diversity in scope. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
Working knowledge of research function.
Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures. Knowledge of statistics and application of basic statistical significant tests (examples: Chi-square tests, t-tests, regress analysis).
Working skills in analysis and consultation.
Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
Experience using SPSS or similar software, Access, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated experience working with databases. Experience in assisting with quality assurance components of protocol in a database management system. Experience querying relational databases and building datasets to facilitate regular reporting.
Experience in the creation and presentation of reports and data in various formats to both professional and lay communities.
Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties. Knowledge of introductory level statistics and application of basic statistical significant tests (examples: Chi-square tests, t-tests, regress analysis).
Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
Demonstrated basic consultation and communication skills. Gathers and analyzes research data; prepares and summarizes information and / or recommendations.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
