Under direct supervision, the Research Assistant will assist with GI Motility Research and laboratory maintenance. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting with the preparation of research procedures, data collection, clean-up after research procedures, transfer and organization of data, and preparation of figures for publication. Other duties assigned as needed.
Theoretical knowledge of physiology.
Proficient with Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with human research subject information privacy and security. Prior Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.
Experience with laboratory maintenance.
Knowledge of universal precautions and safety for working with human research subjects.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to coordinate between research subjects, scientist, physicians, and engineers.
Excellent organizational skills to maintain files, data, orders, and schedules.
Knowledge and experience with laboratory safety.
Proficient and comfortable using a computer and internet on a daily basis. Ability to type documents, organize computer files, check email, perform web searches, and other tasks related to basic computer use.
