ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
UC San Diego is hiring a temporary Research Administrator to support the campus operations for the 2023 - 2024 School Year.
Duration: This role is anticipated to last 3 months *May be extended
Compensation: $35.92 - $39.51 / hour DOE. Eligible for paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm or flexible
Location: CA Remote (Must live in California)
DESCRIPTION
The temporary Research Administrator 3 will assist the grant managers with creation of Kuali system and ASSIST records for research proposals to NIH and other federal sponsors. This individual will be trained on specific Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) guidance for Kuali record setup, and the Schools preferences in Kuali and ASSIST record creation. This position will assist in translating Excel research proposal budgets into Kuali and ASSIST application records for final review by the assigned grant manager. The individual will also assist with NIH annual and final progress report review, participant entry, and in drafting other support reports in the Business Analytics Hub. The individual will also work on closing out expired Kuali application records.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with NIH research proposal management or exposure to research proposal routing is required.
Experience using Kuali for research proposal record setup is preferred as well as exposure to the NIH ASSIST application system.
Experience in viewing/reviewing NIH progress reports in eRA Commons is a plus but not required.
Training will be provided in eRA Commons as needed.
Facility in a team setting and adaptability to move between multiple projects daily is required.

This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
