DESCRIPTION

We invite you to join our team of highly skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist team, genetic counselors, perinatal nurses, and fetal cardiologists in a positive, collaborative, academic environment dedicated to delivering world class, patient-centered prenatal care in beautiful San Diego.
Under general supervision, the OB/GYN sonographer performs maternal-fetal 2D/3D diagnostic ultrasound including utilizing color and pulse Doppler as needed while in compliance with the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and established departmental guidelines and protocols. The OB/GYN sonographer duties include and are not limited to:
- Recognizing normal and pathological maternal-fetal conditions and applying additional modalities as needed (i.e. Doppler, 3D/4D).
- Obtaining complete and accurate measurements of fetal biometric parameters, fetal anatomy, and maternal anatomy.
- Performing transvaginal evaluation of the maternal uterus, adnexa, lower uterine segment, placenta, and maternal-fetal interface.
- Obtaining relevant patient history, imaging according to protocol, reviewing cases with the care team, and generating preliminary reports using structured reporting software.
- Documenting and communicating with patients and the care team
- Troubleshooting and resolving ultrasound related imaging IT issues
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired as a Sr. Ultrasound Tech or a Principal Ultrasound Tech.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Commitment to continued education in MFM ultrasound by obtaining at least 15 CMEs (20CMEs for Principal level)every 36 months in detailed OB ultrasound and/or fetal echocardiography.
Recent OB ultrasound experience in a similar role and setting .
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of sonographic assessment of maternal-fetal conditions including athorough understanding of fetal anatomy, physiology, anomalies, and high risk maternal factors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Recent experience performing GYN ultrasound in a similar role and setting.
- Two to three (2-3) years OB (fetal) ultrasound experience
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work at various locations in the San Diego region based on business needs, including Sorrento Valley, Hillcrest, and Encinitas.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $130,229 - $161,966 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $62.37 - $77.57
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
