DESCRIPTION

Responsible and accountable for key activities associated with the Operating Room Computerized Scheduling System (Epic Op-Time). Schedules all procedures for the operating rooms and Interventional Radiology for UC San Diego Health campuses. Manage all scheduling activities within the Epic system, including Optime and Radiant modules, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information, responsible for scheduling procedures in outlying areas, as assigned. Act as a liaison between external and internal clinical contacts, contributing to seamless patient care coordination across different service lines. Operate a multi-line phone system, providing exceptional customer service to both patients and clinical staff members. Screen patients over the phone, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and procedure requirements. Perform additional related tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the scheduling process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of related scheduling experience in a large, complex hospital setting.
  • High School diploma or GED or and equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must Possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Medical terminology training or certificate.
  • Must be customer service and detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively and equitably in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with UCSD Policies & Procedures.
  • Experience with EPIC, Op-Time OR Scheduling.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
