DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, the Senior Vocational Nurse PD performs on a regular basis the full range of patient care activities in support of patient care. This includes, but not limited to, prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, assisting with training and validation of competencies of LVN and other patient care support as required, assigned to more complex tasks, and providing patient education and staff training. Position requires initiative, ability to prioritize critical demands, ability to work in a team environment and ability to exercise independent judgment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of relevant experience.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, exercise independent judgement and work in a team environment.
Demonstrated experience working with a team to provide high quality patient care.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
Previous experience working with Adult Sickle Cell patient population.
Previous Epic electronic medical record experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $77,862 - $77,862 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $37.29 - $37.29
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
