DESCRIPTION

Support the clinical workflow by moving patients via lift equipment and lift team personnel. Primary functions include: lifting, turning, transferring, and repositioning patients requiring moderate to total assistance. Lift team members may also perform teaching and training functions, limited clerical duties, equipment maintenance, and other activities as directed. Assignments may vary between day or night shifts and participation in weekend coverage is required.

Completes required documentation and communicates patient information across the continuum of care. Job standards are to be performed at the PRACTITIONER level. Lift Team move; empty beds, empty beds with mattresses, bed extenders and bed mattresses. Bed and mattresses may be moved between nursing units or may be moved from a central storage area to nursing units. Movement of beds and mattresses will be incorporated into the regular work requirements of the Lift Team.

As required, assists with patient transport duties as needed which includes pick-up and transport of conscious, semi-conscious, and/ or unconscious hospital patients to and from treatment areas, and nursing units via wheelchair, gurney, or bed. Transport discharged patients to pharmacy and to waiting automobiles. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

  • Must have experience transporting patients in a healthcare complex.

  • Must have a demonstrated knowledge of proper body mechanics.

  • Must have previous experience using a variety of patient lift equipment including but not limited to: hoists, sit to stand, hover mats, and other patient mobility devises.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience directly related to transporting patients in a healthcare facility such as lift team, transport and/or EMT with knowledge of biomechanics and patient safety.
  • Experience with ICU level of care.
  • Hospital acute care education/experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and push over 65 pounds.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $48,045 - $59,759 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $23.01 - $28.62

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
