DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, the Pharmacy Home Infusion Technician 3 duties include performing patient refill calls, filling delivery ticket orders, staging compound worksheets and pulling the necessary ingredients, packing supplies and medication for Dynamex or Fedex delivery, Coordinating the delivery via the courier service, equipment cleaning and testing, purchasing of medications and supplies, receiving and stocking of medications and supplies.
Sterile compounding and duties which will include selecting products to be filled and labels using computer complying with departmental Policy and Procedures. Review compounding products for problems and alert pharmacist for assistance, if needed. Accurately prepare prescription according to department standards. Package medications, medical supplies and equipment for issue and/or delivery per department to ensure proper storage prior to delivery and in route. Prepare medication and medical supplies; verify correctness of order entry. Compute all calculations as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) issued by PTCB.
Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience required.
Experience in project management/system responsibility (e.g. Pyxis, narcotic control, QI, or pharmacy buyer/biller/analyst); OR is a Pharmacy School graduate; OR expanded responsibilities over several areas OR possess a Pharmacy Intern License.
Knowledge of Pharmacy terminology and calculations.
Proven computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
Detail and organizational skills to sort, file and retrieve information.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two - Five (2 - 5) years of previous IV and Chemo experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $64,519 - $80,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $30.90 - $38.41
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
