This is a 100% Contract position for 1 year with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status.
DESCRIPTION
Under supervision applies basic IT professional concepts, department / unit and campus / medical center / OP policies and procedures to resolve routine issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Provide limited system administration support to the Center for Microbiome Innovation (CMI), Jacobs School of Engineering. The projects are minor/limited in scope. Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the incumbent will be performing in the following areas:
Assist with website design - Software programming (python)
Coding for user interface, portals and dashboard as part of Return to Learn
Work on user interface, user design, portals as part of the dashboard

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic knowledge of several areas of IT.
Basic knowledge relating to the design and development of software.
Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot basic problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Basic understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Such as knowledge of and experience in designing and building websites.
Basic understanding of data management operations and database administration.
Basic knowledge of computer security best practices and policies. Ability to put knowledge into practice.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated ability to review a large volume of documents and data rapidly and accurately with close attention to detail.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to interact and communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with members of a diverse user community in person, over the phone, and in writing.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize work effectively, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Requires verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and time management skills.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $53,800 - $91,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.77 - $43.58
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
