DESCRIPTION

Under direction, responsible for all administrative support to Operating Room Nurse Manager, Administrative Nurse 2, Administrative Nurse 1, and Charge Nurses. Lead is responsible for all oversight of front desk operations at the JMC Main OR. Makes operational decisions within policy. Provides information or reports to managers to be used in resource determination and allocation. Provides reception and administrative functions for the Jacobs Medical Center, Thornton Hospital, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center Operating Rooms,. Facilitates urgent changes in the OR schedule and schedules surgical cases. Monitors status of all surgery cases and provide pertinent information to the management, charge nurses,surgeons, anesthesia providers, staff, families and other regarding ongoing OR activity. Processes and tracks various Facilities and Biomedical requests.

Assists with the maintenance of employee time and attendance documentation and entry of call hours. Prepares and distributes numerous reports, daily and weekly correspondence and presentations as assigned. Assists with general office duties including answering phones, typing, copying, faxing, filing and ordering supplies. Ensures appropriate ordering of office supplies in the unit. Ensures proper management of coffee and supplies in the OR staff lounge. Communicates with Telecommunications to ensure proper function of telecommunication devices inthe unit. Manages the dosimeter badge enrollment program. The Lead ensures adequate admin assistant staff coverage for the unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three (3) years recent administrative experience in a surgical/procedure healthcare environment with a variety of cases.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess effective time management skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated positive leadership abilities and patient focused customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and team oriented individual.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Database management experience.
  • Working knowledge of EPIC/OpTime system, and ORSOS.
  • Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
  • Lead Main Operating room admin experience
  • LEAN six sigma

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,016 - $78,384 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.18 - $37.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
