UC San Diego's Temporary Employment Services has a new opportunity available. The Equal Employment Opportunity Representative (EEO Rep) will be assisting with the University’s compliance in conformance with the federal, state, and local affirmative action and equal opportunity laws and regulations. Specifically, the EEO Rep reviews and analyzes the data and other information necessary to facilitate effective fair and equitable hiring processes and practices and their implementation campus wide. Working with the Director, the reviews policies and practices and recommends and implements solutions to improve the academic affirmative action program, policies and reporting. Using professional equal employment opportunity/affirmative action concepts, monitors, analyzes and evaluates the organization's affirmative action programs to ensure compliance with government legislation and organization equal employment opportunity goals.
- Anticipated Duration: 3 months +
- Compensation: Pay: $26.34 - $29.69 / hour, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
- Location: Hybrid remote / on-site. Office is located at the La Jolla main campus.
- Work schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00 - 4:30
Working knowledge of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs. Proven knowledge of Affirmative Action policies and procedures, Federal and State laws, regulations and guidelines regarding equal opportunity and affirmative action.
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to promote creative strategies to enhance equity and diversity in Higher Education, as well as identify emerging issues, trends, analyses and perspectives related to diversity and affirmative action in education and the workplace.
Strong and effective interpersonal skills; the ability to listen well, be a creative problem solver, and speak effectively and articulately.
Demonstrated ability to clearly and accurately express substance and nuance in both oral and written communications to an internal audience of campus administrators and academics and an external audience of other UC campuses and academic job applicants.
Demonstrated experience in public speaking and training.
Demonstrated experience interpreting, extracting and analyzing recruitment and retention trends and statistical data to support and influence academic recruitment efforts on campus.
Background check required.
