DESCRIPTION
Develops, directs and implements the nutrition program for RRSS/Housing Dining Hospitality (HDH). As the department Registered Dietitian, assists and counsels students with special dietary needs and provides diet instructions and nutrition education. As a representative of RRSS/Housing Dining Hospitality (HDH), its mission and goals act as an information resource regarding public health issues related to college health, emphasizing nutritional care and education. Assess the nutrition status of individual patients via medical record review, patient interviews, and diet histories. Serve as a resource and expert in nutrition for campus and community. Perform other health education duties as required or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Registered Dietitian per American Dietetic Association and maintain that registration in good standing preferred. Must hold the equivalent of MS or MPH degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics. Willingness to travel between multiple work sites. Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours when needed.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
We will transition into a new food management system and will require help with recipe analysis and menu development. This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $80,883 - $106,759 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $38.74 - $51.13
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
