DESCRIPTION
UC San Diego’s Temporary Employment Services department is excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced Data Operations Analyst to support our client department’s daily operations and data management needs.
The Data Operations Analyst will oversee critical data processes, ensure data integrity, and support system improvements within the department. This role is responsible for managing biographical requests, running control reports, tracking and processing returned mail, and handling requests through the department’s ServiceNow system. Additionally, the analyst will research, document, and implement best practices related to client needs and the CRM database (ESP) while serving as a subject matter expert on its features and updates.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management & System Operations:
* Oversee biographical data requests, ensuring accuracy and consistency in records.
* Manage and analyze control reports to track data integrity and identify improvements.
* Develop strategies to efficiently track and process returned mail while maintaining up-to-date records.
* Serve as a primary resource for users, educating staff on new CRM database (ESP) features and updates.
Reporting & Business Process Improvement:
* Utilize Excel, SQL, and other relational database tools to create, modify, and maintain a library of queries and reports.
* Analyze business processes, gather functional requirements, and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency.
* Identify, evaluate, and develop systems and procedures that enhance data integrity and streamline workflows.
* Conduct unit integration and acceptance testing for new database features or process improvements.
* Assist in developing and maintaining online policies, procedures, and tools to support UC San Diego’s fundraising efforts.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving:
* Handle requests for information efficiently and courteously, interpreting incomplete requests and providing appropriate data solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business process or system issues and recommend best practices.
* Engage in joint problem-solving with staff to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of the CRM database (ESP).
* Continuously improve administrative procedures within the department to optimize data-driven decision-making.
- Anticipated duration: 6 months
- Compensation: $33.29 - $36.40 / hour, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
- Location: Hybrid, this position will allow for a fully remote work arrangement with expectation candidate will come on-site for team meetings, events, etc. approximately once per quarter. On-site work will be at UC San Diego’s main campus in La Jolla.
- Work schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00 - 4:30 PM.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in data operations, business process analysis, or database management.
* Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and relational databases (preferred).
* Ability to develop and document best practices for database usage and data integrity.
* Strong analytical skills to assess and resolve business process issues.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively train and support users on system updates and data processes.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
