Data Management Coordinator designs, develops, and tests REDCap projects to support capture of data for investigator-initiated research studies. Some examples include REDCap project design, coding of advanced logic and calculations in REDCap, and minor data migration from other systems (e.g. Excel). They communicate with investigators to determine scope, requirements, and deliverables, and the Coordinator works with staff to find solutions to preserve data integrity while accommodating end users’ needs.
Works with investigators, clinical staff, and statisticians to develop surveys and case report forms that ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data collected. Will create and maintain documentation to describe projects and data collection and develop reporting tools to monitor data quality.
Additionally, Data Management Coordinator manages access to projects and preserves security of sensitive data. Will train and educate end-users with presentations in meetings and one-on-one guidance.
Under supervision applies professional concepts, department/unit and campus / medical center / OP methodologies and procedures to resolve routine data/information management problems. Works on problems of limited scope to provide data/information management support. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data/information from which answers can be readily obtained.
Four (4) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area.
Understanding of data management operations and database administration, including data modeling, data definition, data conversion and management of content or unstructured information.
Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to abstract information requirements from real-world processes to understand information flows in computer systems.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations.
Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Proven problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with clinical trials.
- Experience using REDCap.
