This position is a limited position with the possibility of extension/career conversion.


Bone and Marrow Transplantation (B.M.T.) is a highly complex and resource-intensive treatment requiring a specialized multi-disciplinary team. Under the general supervision of B.M.T. leadership, the B.M.T. Clinical Social Worker provides clinical social work services, including comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and treatment planning; ongoing psychosocial evaluation; counseling for adjustment to illness and the impact of treatment; psycho-education; and linkage with resources, e.g., support and financial assistance. Services are provided to patients and their caregivers in both out-patient and in-patient settings. The Clinical Social Worker also participates in related department functions. Performs all other duties as assigned

This position is expected to be full-time for 4-5 months.


  • A Master's degree in social work from an accredited school.

  • At least two (2) years of post MSW experience. In order to be considered for the Clinical Social Worker III, one must have at least three years of post-MSW experience and be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

  • Strong ability to provide advanced clinical social work interventions including crisis intervention, brief mental health services to individuals, couples, family counseling, anticipatory grief work, supportive counseling, group therapy, and mandated reporting.

  • Proven experience with providing social work services to oncology patients of diverse age groups, with sensitivity to the cross-section of the cultural population.


  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - issued by the state of California.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Demonstrated Oncology experience.
  • Epic experience


  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • This position is expected to be full-time for 4-5 months.

Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
