DESCRIPTION
The Clinical Nurse Educator 4 for the Chaperone policy program will assume the leadership role in a program with broad impact across the organization. Selected candidate will use subject matter expertise, program development and education skills, analytical studies and subject matter expertise in support of University of California to continually develop and improve the ability to prevent, detect and respond to sexual violence and sexual harassment (SVSH) across all operations.
They will be involved in the design, delivery, and oversight of chaperone policy related initial and annual education for all staff, including clinical team members, advance practitioners, faculty physicians, and physician trainees. The selected candidate will assume a leadership role in the implementation of the chaperone policy new to the inpatient setting and will support ongoing policy compliance for ambulatory settings. They will serve as the expert and consultant to ensure successful implementation of policy requirements. The clinical nurse educator will collaborate with patient education team members to update patient education material.
The educator will ensure the chaperone policy follows University of California requirements and will be responsible for updates and edits as needed. This role requires monitoring of mandatory training and policy compliance, with routine reporting to all UCSDH leadership, including the analysis and reporting of both internal and UCSD audit and management advisory services data. They will address and propose solutions to situations or data that require in-depth evaluation of factors and input from a variety of stakeholders. These same skills will be applied to additional projects, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California.
Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three (3) years recent professional Nurse Educator or similar experience.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Experience with policy development.
Experience developing training for variety of learners.
Experience collaborating with organization leaders and demonstrated interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with professional and technical staff.
Ability to produce high-quality reports, documentation, and presentations.
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess highly-complex and urgent problems to develop an expedient path of resolution.
Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
Advanced knowledge of a broad spectrum of professional nursing practices and issues and in-depth knowledge in a clinical nursing specialty area.
Advanced knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MSN or currently enrolled in MSN program strongly preferred
- Experience in continuous quality improvement.
- Experience reviewing Epic electronic records.
- Certificate within area of specialty

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $128,800 - $252,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $61.69 - $120.79
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
