DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, the incumbent will work as an Alzheimer Research Associate/Tester to assist the PI with a study on Alzheimer's disease using neuroimaging, neuropsychological assessment, and clinical interviews within the Department of Psychiatry. Primary responsibilities include assisting with participant recruitment; participant eligibility screening; conducting clinical interviews; administering and scoring neuropsychological assessments; and assisting with neuroimaging sessions. Duties also include obtaining informed consent/HIPAA; collecting, scoring, and uploading study data; and scheduling study participant appointments, conducting comprehensive literature reviews utilizing multiple sources of media, general lab assistance duties including maintaining equipment and supplies and preparing data collection packets and other project and miscellaneous duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Theoretical knowledge of neuropsychology, neurosciences, aging, or related fields as typically attained by a Bachelor’s degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in administering or scoring neurobehavioral assessments (especially measures of intelligence, executive functions, learning, recall, abstraction, perception, motor skills and coordination, attention, and speed of information processing).

  • Proficiency with word processing, graphics, statistical (especially SPSS or R), and database programs.

  • Experience to conduct data analyses, data collection, data tracking, interpretation and presentation.

  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and ability to perform basic statistical analyses.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work as a team with other staff members and faculty, and to recruit, test, and motivate research subjects.

  • Proven ability to prioritize work in an environment with frequent interruptions, maintaining a high degree of judgment and confidentiality, while working independently and resourcefully against deadlines.

  • Proven ability to recognize problems and correct them as necessary or seek help in correcting the situation.

  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated experience to conduct comprehensive literature reviews utilizing multiple sources of media.

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills with experience in scientific writing.

  • Ability to assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in preparing and managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials and progress reports.

  • Ability to assist PI with manuscript preparation including literature reviews, data analysis, and writing.

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive literature reviews utilizing multiple sources of media.

  • Demonstrated experience to take annual human subjects certifications to stay compliant with HRPP regulations.

  • Demonstrated experience to assist with drafting and disseminating recruitment materials (e.g., flyers), collaborating with our recruitment sources to secure referral lists, performing screening calls to determine eligibility of participants.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $51,949 - $61,972 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $24.88 - $29.68

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
