The Health Sciences Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) facilitates faculty career success and growth through professional development activities, mentorship and leadership training for faculty in the School of Medicine, Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health, and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. OFA analyzes faculty data to develop evidence-based effective programming and initiatives to enhance success, recruitment, and retention of an engaged, diverse, and inclusive faculty.
The Senior Faculty Affairs Analyst manages the planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of programs and courses sponsored by the Health Sciences Office of Faculty Affairs. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for staying current on training pedagogy; researching best practices; collecting, analyzing and evaluating the program’s effectiveness; and introducing innovative methods and tools to achieve desired outcomes.
This position is responsible for the management and analysis of faculty and program data. Researches and compiles data from national, state, university, and campus sources, conducts surveys, synthesizes and analyzes information, provides statistical findings, creates reports, makes recommendations, interprets data results, and disseminates information to a wide audience through both formal and informal presentations.
Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.
Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in program evaluation, applied research methods (e.g., analysis of survey data, longitudinal analysis) and outcomes assessment.
Knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques; statistics or social science research techniques; knowledge of organizational principles and procedures involved in handling sensitive data (for example, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA).
Proficiency in organizing and reporting data with strong attention to detail and accuracy and ability to solve complex research methodology. Experience in interpreting and evaluating research results.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Demonstrated experience in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive and secure data information. Proven ability to exercise a high level of good judgment, decision-making, problem solving.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to utilize statistical software (SPSS/SAS/STATA or equivalent) in order to analyze complex and diverse computer generated data and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) fordata reports.
Knowledge and experience in data management computer applications, query tools (e.g., SQL) and relational databases in order to extract data from existing systems and restructure data in a manner that allows for robust analysis and information.
Proven ability to take initiative in developing, independently planning, organizing, researching, and writing special studies and projects on behalf of the AVC-Faculty Affairs and/or unit leadership.
Strong skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs.
Demonstrated policy analysis techniques.
