Under the supervision of BMT Nursing Director and BMT Finance & Administration Manager, the Financial Services Analyst is responsible for providing administrative financial assistance for the Cellular Therapy Program for both inpatients and outpatients, and financially securing all IEC, Cellular Therapy and Stem Cell Lab accounts.
The Financial Services Analyst has responsibility for ensuring all IEC/Cellular Therapy and Stem Cell Lab Accounts are: 1) evaluated; 2) Meet the Medical Center's & the IEC/Cellular Therapy financial policy; 2) have been financially secured ; 3) work unfunded/unsecured accounts to minimize financial loss to the Medical Center & the IEC/Cellular Therapy. Serve as a financial resource to physicians & staff regarding financial issues, and provide education of IEC/Cellular Therapy Payor contracts.
Typical duties include obtaining eligibility, benefit information, authorizations, patient demographic information, negotiation and development of special arrangement & reimbursement rates for individual agreements. The Analyst is also responsible for assisting the Financial management team in creation, implementation, and quality assurance of staff educational programs. Produces monthly financial revenue and cost reports, creates statistical and volume reports, and transplant secured account grids.
Three (3) years Hospital Registration/Patient Access experience in a large, complex healthcare environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
Thorough knowledge of third party payors and reimbursement requirements, medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the patient referral and authorization process.
Highly proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of EMTALA and HIPPA).
- Proven success with financial policies and procedures, ie: accounting principles.
- One to three (1-3) years of Blood and Marrow Transplant Program experience, with knowledge of Transplant Global Contracts.
- Three to five years (3-5) of related experience in a large healthcare environment.
- A Bachelor's Degree, and/or training in equivalent area.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
