DESCRIPTION

Food Services Supervisor: Involves all aspects of food service in a restaurant, catering or retail food operation, including preparation, serving and presentation of food and beverages; dining and serving area set up; cleaning of the facilities, equipment and tableware; customer service, and executing transactions.Level 1: Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of operational or technical employees. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the unit; however, supervisory activities must constitute a primary part of the job. Supervises unit operations to ensure compliance with departmental or organizational policies, procedures, and defined internal controls. Ensures accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures.

Food Services Supervisor: Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives. May assist with departmental training initiatives across campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees activities of employees who operate and maintain kitchens, cafeterias, luncheon counters, and restaurants for in-house feeding of employees.
  • Oversees direction of employees to complete services using established food safety guidelines, procedures and quality control.
  • Oversees assignment of tasks, checks work areas at frequent intervals, and maintains schedules.
  • On rare occasions, may assist functional unit.
  • Develops and maintains exceptional customer service standards.
  • Ensures compliance with cash and payment handling policies and procedures.
  • Audits and ensures compliance of food prep to QA standards and safety / security related to handling and preparation of food.Pay Grade:Job Description Disclaimer :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification / experience.

  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Experience and working knowledge in food service and sanitation regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supervisory experience, preferably in food service industry.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
