The CT Surgery Clinical, Surgical, & Fellowship Care Coordinator is responsible for providing daily referral assistance and care coordination to patients and community providers. The Care Coordinator is administratively responsible for providing efficient, personalized services to these patients in order to coordinate access to all department clinical services. Services may include: physician referral, new patient registration, multiple appointment/consultation scheduling.
This position is responsible for effectively and professionally communicating and interacting with a diverse population of patients and referring entities. Serve as the Fellowship Coordinator in support of the Director for the CT Surgery Fellowship Program. Develop and maintain extensive filing system for all patient records. Build and maintain databases and lists. Transcribe faculty correspondence and prepare other documents as requested.
Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
A minimum of two (2+) or more years of relevant experience.
Experience and proven success in clinic medical billing practices including coding, billing systems and documentation requirements.
Knowledge of ambulatory care clinic practice management including patient care workflows and processes.
Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology and clinical knowledge of clinic practice area.
- Four (4) years experience working in healthcare administrative support.
- Previous experience working in a large healthcare/clinical setting.
- Experience working with Health Insurance Companies and Community Medical Groups.
- Experience with scheduling, registration, and authorization.
- Epic/Cadence Experience.
- Previous Graduate Medical Experience (GME) experience.
- Previous Fellowship Coordinator experience.
- Experience managing complex calendars, coordinating appointments, handling traveling arrangements, and process reimbursements of expenses.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
