Under general direction, plans, directs and coordinates all clinical services, policies and procedures for the operation of the medical center's Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services. Responsible for all clinical services and administrative work in the operation of both departments. Evaluates the responsible and effective utilization of personnel, supplies and resources for the clinical service provided in accordance with policies.

Responsible for productivity standards/targets, budget targets, payroll oversight as well as staff recruitment, training, orientation, performance evaluation, coaching and discipline. Effectively communicates to resolve problems, acts as a liaison for the department to all customers, inter hospital groups, other allied medical personnel, outside agencies and the community. Adheres to and applies radiation safety principles in line with ALARA; follows state and federal regulations.

Ensures departments are operating within hospital policies and standard practices; updating protocols and guidelines ensuring departmental compliance. Works with physician leaders to determine needs/goals/issues within the Nuclear Medicine department; implements a QA program. Adheres to regulatory and safety guidelines as required by state, local and federal agencies. Performs other related duties/functions as needed.


  • Eleven (11) years of related experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area plus seven(+7) or more years of relevant experience/training.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience and proven clinical practice knowledge with applied background in a radiology modality, preferably CT.

  • Knowledge of terms, concepts, and protocols.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care setting to improve operations.


  • A Master’s Degree.
  • Licensed technologist in a radiology modality.
  • Registered Technologist for Nuclear Medicine Technology issued by ARRT (R.T(N)(ARRT)).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board(NMTCB).
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience.


Must be able to work various hours & locations based on business needs.
