The Database Administrator is responsible for top-level technical coordination and design of complex SQL database systems in a large computing environment. Incumbent designs programs collaborating with key staff and faculty from various organizational units Incumbent maintains system integrity, investigates and solves performance issues as they arise, and participates in the review, install, and configuration of any SQL system that the enterprise decides to implement. The Database Administrator will be the technical expert in SQL database development and utilize advanced technologies (clustering, shadowing, mirroring, log shipping) when appropriate.
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
Professional experience, and proven success, providing database administration and management in a large scale organization.
Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience SQL and knowledge of relational database concepts, including writing Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc.
- SQL Server 2014-2019 Administration
- AlwaysOn Availability Groups
- SQL and Windows Clustering
- Transparent data encryption - TDE
- SQL Server Integrated Services - SSIS
- SQL Reporting Services - SSRS
- T-SQL Programming
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Security best practices.
- Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or Agile Principles.
- Utilized SolarWinds or other monitoring systems.
- Experience in Azure SQL, AWS is a plus
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
