DESCRIPTION

The Director of WDC2024 programs will interface with campus, regional and international stakeholders and will participate in program planning, implementation and delivery. Collaborate with WDC2024 leadership team (CDO, CEO, and Director of Operations) to execute programs such as the 7 signature events, and to identify, kickstart and co-manage the legacy and community projects. Develop and conduct town halls, workshops and meetings. Manage the WDC2024s project management system and act as a point of contact for any WDC special projects.

Use professional concepts and experience to plan, create, conduct and/or support programming in accordance with the WDC2024 Chief Design Officer/Design Lab Associate Director, and when indicated, the Design Lab Executive Manager. Recruit and supervise student and community volunteers. Manage project assignments and produce reports. Analyze issues and problems, gathering data and information, finding and evaluating alternatives and making sound recommendations. Other duties within scope of description.

Note: Between 2022-2025, this position will be primarily focused on the World Design Capital 2024 initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Ability to do research and analysis of short- and long-term budgetary issues and trends.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.

  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Knowledge of and experience with a fund accounting financial system and generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Advanced writing ability to independently compose letters and publications using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, composition, text editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to organize complex strategies and produce a results-oriented, coherent document.

  • Strong policy analysis techniques.

  • Proven political acumen skills and ability to apply in a diverse, complex organization. Demonstrated ability to perform duties with a high degree of professionalism.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $53,600 - $111,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $25.67 - $53.45

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
