This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla Medical Center and remote.
Involves designing, developing, delivering, and administering fundraising programs. Identifies new donor prospects through researching background information on potential donors and developing materials, marketing plans, and organizing related programs / events; cultivates, stewards, and may solicit donor prospects.
Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues / problems without precedent and / or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs complex large-scale fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the "major gifts" or "corporate / foundation relations" level, including managing portfolios of donors capable of giving gifts of an agreed upon amount. May oversee work of professional and / or subordinate staff. May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal / external committees as a location representative. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization.
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training
Plans, organizes, and directs large-scale, fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. May serve as an expert or lead development professional in a specific academic discipline.
Evaluates programs using financial feasibility studies and market research, including planning and evaluating annual solicitation programs and making recommendations for improvements.
Writes proposals for solicitation of individual, corporate, and / or foundation prospects.Analyzes needs and assists in the creation of strategic plans for fundraising and other advancement programs.
Ensures that predetermined fundraising goals are met and implements program activities to achieve these goals.
Identifies, cultivates, solicits and / or stewards major gift prospects and donors.
Recruits, trains, and supports key volunteers who assist in advancement efforts.
May oversee the work of professional and support staff involved in the implementation of multi-component fundraising programs.
Develops and manages a dynamic portfolio to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects for gifts in the agreed upon range. May include corporate and foundation prospects.
Qualify major gift prospects and solicit gifts directly.
May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal / external committees as a representative of the location.
Manage Department Social Media presence.
Manage Department newsletter and department promotional materials.
