DESCRIPTION

Performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing. Performs and evaluates test results and quality control procedures. Performs instrument preventative maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting. May be cross trained in more than one area of the laboratory. Actively participates in evaluation and monitoring of quality control programs. Evaluates and implements new methods and and develops procedures. Instructs students in the CLS training program. Adheres to all applicable regulatory and accreditation quality standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

  • Must have at least three (3) years of applicable clinical laboratory experience.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One (1) year hematology experience in a clinical lab setting.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years of applicable clinical laboratory experience.
  • Familiar with CAP checklists and requirements
  • Experience with CAP preparations and inspections
  • Experience with EP Evaluator and Statistical Analysis
  • Experience with Validation of New Laboratory Methods
  • LEAN yellow, green, or black belt

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $108,158 - $142,506 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $51.80 - $68.25

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
