Long-term temporary opportunity available partnering with various divisions within our financial services team and finance/administrative constituencies from other Vice Chancellor areas to address training gaps for use and optimization of UC San Diego (enterprise) Oracle Financial Information system based on training and client support data. The Senior Training & Client Support Analyst ensures alignment with training framework objectives for other enterprise financial applications (e.g., Concur, Payment Compass etc). Develops and executes training curriculum, courseware and tools for instructor-led, workshop and web-based training for role-based end-users to successfully utilize enterprise systems including customized financial modules and other integrated systems.

Provides residual training support and help department transition to the standard client support for ongoing needs. Ensures data integrity and develops new and existing metrics for measuring success as a continuous feedback loop. Monitors training results through employee progress and maintains records of training attendance to determine program effectiveness. Creates and maintains a training database to organize and track individual training information. Identifies opportunities for growth and development to align with department wide talent alignment & succession planning efforts.

Anticipated Duration: One (1) year

Compensation: Pay: $26.34 - $28.74 /hour including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.

Location: this position will the option to have a fully remote or hybrid (on-site at La Jolla campus and remote) work arrangement.

Work schedule: Mon - Fri; 8:00AM - 4:30PM


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Demonstrated skill in professional high-quality adult instructional design, development and delivery (e.g., web-based, classroom etc).

  • Thorough knowledge of adult learning theory and practices. Strong skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new training courses to meet organizational needs.

  • Proven skill to develop integrated curriculum, considering content, sequence, methodology and delivery options. Experience with using course authoring, graphics and presentation software for developing web-based training.

  • Experience authoring web pages, using current web authoring tools and best practices in content and usability.

  • Knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and tools for applicability to web-based training initiative.

  • Experienced in written and verbal communications that express complex or technical content in understandable terms, and specifically skilled in writing and developing content for the web.

  • Proficient ability to use desktop publishing and software with experienced in page layout, design, image creation and optimization. Work experience in editing for stylistic consistency, logical organization, rational development of content, and ensuring technical content accuracy.

  • Demonstrated advanced skill in group facilitation indicating understanding of the principles of group dynamics and the needs and sensibilities of a diverse work force.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Business, Education, Public Administration or Project Management, and four years of experience in training and client support, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Understanding of enterprise integrated business, research and financial systems to manage institutional research administration systems.
