The Senior Training & Client Support Analyst will work with Research Administration Training Program to identify and address training gaps based on needs assessments and client support data. The Senior Training & Client Support Analyst will design, develop and deliver research administration training and communications, including both synchronous and asynchronous. The incumbent is responsible for developing training curriculum, courseware, and tools for instructor-led, workshop, and web-based training for role-based end-users to successfully utilize the new enterprise platforms and technologies including customized business modules and other integrated systems. In consultation with campus advisory groups and subject matter experts analyses training materials provided by the business and identifies local supplemental materials needing development.

The Senior Training & Client Support Analyst will schedule and coordinate training sessions and lead training activities/exercises to various campus audiences and through various delivery methods. Participates in the creation of role-based competency requirements and content for curriculum guides and other needed collateral. Coordinate training schedule and logistics. This position develops and maintains mechanisms and techniques for delivering training and develops programs to track participation to ensure accountability and campus competency. Training audience is campus research administration staff and potentially academics.


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Thorough knowledge of training and development, performance management and workplace learning. Ability to apply knowledge to achieve successful organizational outcomes.

  • Proven knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. Knowledge and skills-based in research administration pre-award, post-award, compliance and reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of delivering training programs and thorough knowledge of other areas of human resources.

  • Thorough knowledge of current training programs and trends.

  • Strong skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new training courses to meet organizational needs.

  • Proven analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation skills.

  • Experience with relevant business software systems; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

  • Strong skills in planning, resourcing and monitoring effective delivery of training.

  • Thorough knowledge of applying adult learning theories and education methodologies. In-depth knowledge of instructional development theory.

  • Professional knowledge and proven experience in the overall research administration process, and the systems that support them, through practical experience in a similar large scale research institution.

  • Knowledge and experience in sponsored research proposal management, and post award functions. Familiarity with the steps associated with proposal development, submissions, award management, negotiation, award management and financial reporting.
