Business Technology Services, a division of IT Services, provides enterprise solutions and application development for the UC San Diego community. We deliver quality and reliable systems and services that help our campus continuously improve business processes. Our combined technical resources, including web, mainframe and infrastructure are the foundation of the applications we develop.
Serves as a Software Integration engineer applying advanced IT professional concepts and campus objectives to address highly complex business process needs. Using the latest technology and platforms; design, build and maintain highly complex campus wide integrations. Utilizing advanced information systems and data warehouse expertise, leads implementation and integration efforts for selected campus, vendor and cloud hosted commercial systems ensuring appropriate data management and security.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build and maintain highly complex, campus wide ETL integrations
- Applies advanced software concepts and objectives to medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity.
- Regularly resolves highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Selects tools, methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. Ability to create technical designs and estimates for implementing complex data integrations and software applications that span multiple environments and platforms, such as Cloud, Linux.
- Advanced knowledge of databases, queries, ETL integrations, stored procedures. . Capable of configuring and monitoring connection pools; SQL optimization, manage database changes and deployments with respect to application lifecycle.
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages: Java, JavaScript, C#, Python
- Advanced knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, code repo, release management, build and release process
- Demonstrated complex problem- solving skills. Ability to investigate and diagnose all aspects of data integration, application issues, including security, business logic, database connection, entities, queries, performance, memory management and load issues.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $78,900 - $179,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $37.79 - $86.16
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
