Human Capital Management Information Services (HCM-IS) delivers Enterprise information technology services to the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego). As a strategic member of the UC San Diego community, HCM-IS is customer-focused and committed to collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
HCM-IS delivers quality and reliable systems and services that help our campus continuously improve business processes. Our combined technical resources, including web, mainframe and infrastructure are the foundation of the applications we develop.
Our combined technical resources allow us to build, integrate, host and deliver campus-wide enterprise systems for both our campus and collaboratively with other campuses within the UC system. Additionally the team offers custom integration and application development services, business analysis services and data management services for a variety of departments on the campus.
- The incumbent should have the skillset and ambition to quickly learn, be able to work on, and ultimately take technical ownership of any application, integration, and data-flow within the HCM-IS portfolio.
- Incumbent would have direct or related involvement in designing databases, user interfaces, integration to other systems/applications, content or multimedia processes.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, process owners and ITS colleagues to define and execute strategically-aligned project plans and technical design requirements.
- Follows, selects appropriate tools, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for, and provides improvement opportunities to, existing SDLC, IT, and Project Management standards.
- The incumbent should be able to take on a technical lead role, and represent HCM-IS, for projects initiated by UCOP for any additions or changes to the UCPath integrations.
Bachelor's degree in related area with relatable experience / training.
Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope.
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Proven ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Excellent project leadership and management skills.
Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Employee must be available to travel as required.
