This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Center Drive and remote.
This position will be hired at the SYS INTEGRATION ENGR level 3 or level 4 depending on the experience of the selected candidate.

The University of California, San Diego Health System seeks an individual with advanced knowledge in Windows workstation, application management and Printing device systems administration. The successful applicant will have a background in the installation, deployment, administration, security and maintenance of Windows and Peripheral devices in large enterprise (10,000+ device) environment. The incumbent will have demonstrated experience writing and editing complex scripts, namely powershell, used to perform system maintenance and administration. The candidate will show advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and polices including demonstrated experience securing management servers and workstations.
In conjunction with the enterprise systems teams, the incumbent provides system analysis,maintenance, and monitoring of systems and servers including installations, upgrades, patches, as well as documentation with primary responsibility for the implementation, management, support and maintenance of various system software products and hardware components that comprise enterprise computing infrastructure. Manages and supports the systems/hardware infrastructure and associated resources. Provides 7/24 problem management support and resolution for all applications and operating systems as part of the on-call rotation.
Incumbent will have advanced knowledge with a variety of software tools, including those related to support and implementation. Incumbents provide consultation and knowledge transfer with respect to system administration techniques and software components. The incumbent will have a good background in technical writing, documentation, and project management.
Advanced knowledge and experience engineering and administering systems in the following areas is preferred: Windows Server, Windows 10 Enterprise, Citrix, Active Directory Group Policy, and peripheral device management such as Printers, scanner and card readers. Hardware knowledge of the following system types is preferred: Dell, HP, Microsoft Enterprise class computing hardware. Support knowledge and experience with Networking protocols and Cloud Computing technologies such as Azure, Intune and Office 365 administration.
Assists with the management, support, and oversight of the Health Systems' Device Managementplatforms including System Center Suite (SCCM, Orchestrator), WSUS, Intune, Absolute, Imprivata (TapIn/Out), Print Servers, and other device management systems as required. Incumbent assists with managing, maintaining, monitoring and securing (including data security) of all Health System workstations including installations, upgrades, patches and documentation including an annual review of all systems. Collaborates with other Health System and Campus based teams as needed.
Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training
Professional experience and proven success serving as the technical administrator for hardware, operating systems, and network management.
Demonstrated experience writing and editing complex scripts used to perform system maintenance and administration.
Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including proven experience securing server-based software.
- Development and administration of formal technical training to users at a variety of levels.
- Thorough understanding of client infrastructure management including: Active Directory, Group Policies, Client Management Software (SCCM), Microsoft Installer, PXE, software deployment, remote application deployment, and incident management.
- Working Knowledge of ITSM Practices.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- MCSA Certification Windows 10, Mobility or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of MDM support systems including Intune.
- CompTIA A+; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and a CA driver's license.
- Must be able to travel outside of the county a minimum of 5% of the time for training, conferences/seminars, or meetings in support of assigned project.
