Under general supervision, the New Grad RN identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations. Directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned. Promotes compliance and support of policies. Achieves trust in professional collegial relationships.

This is our General Nursing New Graduate posting, the following units will be participating:
- Hillcrest 6 Med/Surg PCU-8 openings
- Hillcrest 11E/W PCU-3 openings
- Hillcrest 10E IMU/PCU-3 openings
- SCVC 3B PCU-1 opening
- Hillcrest 5W Trauma PCU-3 openings
- Thornton 2E IMU/PCU-2 openings
- Thornton 2W Telemetry/PCU-1 opening
- Hillcrest 8 Med/Surg-1 opening
- Thornton Med/Surg-2 openings
- Hillcrest Emergency Department In-Patient Transition-4 openings
- La Jolla Emergency Department In-Patient Transition-2 openings
While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
California RN license by start date. Depending on applicant pool, may consider interim permits.
BART or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date required for most units.
All PCUs: BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
PACU: BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date. PALS must be obtained within one year of hire date.
Thornton IMU/PCU: BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Chemotherapy certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
Med/Surg and ED In-Patient: BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Must have less than six (6) months of working RN experience.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
BSN.
Externship/Internship/Preceptorship or prior clinical work experience in specialty area.
Bilingual.
Community service and/or volunteer work.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours, days of the week, shifts, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $114,652 - $114,652 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $54.91 - $54.91
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
