The Clinical Nurse Educator III is responsible for designing and delivering clinician (primarily nursing), professional / leadership development programs, policies, activities, assessment tools, and systems. Promotes excellence in patient care through skill acquisition in evidence-based nursing practice and clinical inquiry. Collaborates with nursing leadership to tailor programs and resources based on needs assessments. Meets the diverse requirements of the nursing units, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation, and strategic goals of the organization/health system.
In collaboration with nursing leadership, this position will oversee cancer services clinical staff onboarding, including competency-based orientation, coaching for success, and preceptor selection/development. This position will also work with staff and leaders on identification and planning for staff learning and professional development needs. This position requires expert written and verbal communication skills in developing and delivering education on new therapies, technologies, and/or other patient safety and staff wellbeing initiatives. This position requires expertise in all modalities of cancer services, including care coordination within medical oncology, surgical oncology and cellular therapy transplant, infusion, and radiation oncology, with a strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
Applies skills and experience as a seasoned nurse educator to ensure optimal clinician knowledge and skills through education and training in oncology nursing education and/or training. In collaboration with clinical leaders and staff, helps develop and lead the implementation of new programs and initiatives.

A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.
Current ART certification, or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
Five (5+) or more years of relevant oncology RN experience.
Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.
Proven knowledge of managing disaster incidents and sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.
Thorough knowledge of delivering clinical nursing education and training material for orientation, skills/competency learning, and leadership development.
Demonstrated knowledge of a broad spectrum of professional nursing practices and issues.
Strong skills in written and verbal communications. Ability to collaborate productively in a team environment with all levels of internal and external personnel and to convey complex clinical information clearly and concisely.
Thorough knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide education, training, and resources and to develop positive working relationships with nursing staff and leadership.
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
- Previous experience as a clinical educator or clinical instructor.
- Outpatient oncology RN experience.
- Certification in Oncology.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
