Incumbent serves as Receiver and Material Processor in Logistics ---a unit of Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS) housed within Business and Financial Services (BFS). This position is responsible for physically receiving and inspecting product as it arrives to the UC San Diego off-site Warehouse. Incumbent verifying correct delivery address on packages, sorting packages onto pallets and conveyor belts. Incumbent utilizes computers to enter package information into the UC San Diego package tracking application, review packages for hazardous materials, and store in appropriate location based on material type. This position frequently interacts with the UC San Diego's broad customer base, contacts vendors for product information and / or final destination and maintains the appearance and upkeep of the warehouse.

Knowledge of and ability to use safety techniques in lifting objects up to and including 70 pounds.
Ability to use material movement equipment (Forklift, Pallet Lift and trucks)
Occasional overtime may be required
One (1) year of experience in storekeeping, inventory control and recordkeeping; or an equivalent combination of education.
Intermediate computer skills to enter information into software programs, utilize email to correspond with customers, internet searches and navigate various software
Knowledge of and ability to use safety techniques in lifting objects and packages up to and including 70 pounds.
Knowledge of Receiving and warehouse functions
Ability to operate material handling equipment safely including forklift, pallet jacks and hand trucks
Experience working with purchase orders, packing slips and freight bills (BOL’s).
Excellent customer service, key entry, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of hazardous material regulations sufficient to handle and deliver gas cylinders and hazardous shipments.
Job offer is contingent on clear DOJ/FBI Background Check.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License
