DESCRIPTION
UC San Diego Health Sciences is a Vice Chancellor area within the University of California San Diego (UCSD). The organizational structure is comprised of an academic and a clinical enterprise. The academic enterprise encompasses three professional schools, the School of Medicine, comprised of 19 departments, the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health. All are dedicated to innovative research, teaching, and patient care. The clinical enterprise includes the UC San Diego Medical Center, the Jacobs Medical Center, the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, the Moores Cancer Center, the Shiley Eye Institute and Student Health - all committed to the highest quality patient-centered primary and specialty care.
The Vice Chancellor Health Sciences (VCHS) Academic Affairs Office provides oversight and assistance for academic appointments and advancement, faculty compensation, and interpretation of UC policies. We are committed to delivering expert, objective guidance to Health Sciences faculty, departments and schools in the advancement and retention of UC San Diego academic appointees.

Under close supervision, will support administrative projects as required by leadership. Assist the leadership team with project planning, resource planning, audit management, status reports, and "lessons learned" documentation. Serve as point of contact for meeting attendees and/or collaborating units. Learns to identify and support the implementation of process improvements as it relates to trends in academic personnel, and produce progress reports and follow-up opportunities based on project needs.
While performing their duties, the incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in a rapidly changing, time-pressured environment. This requires the incumbent to use discretion and have an understanding of sensitive issues, independent judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to be flexible as demands and priorities change. This position requires a creative, organized, and solution-oriented individual who enjoys learning and contributing to a highly productive team in a dynamic work environment.
Learns to use professional concepts to conduct and / or support analytical studies or projects. Works on problems of limited scope. Acquires skills to fully analyze issues and problems, gather data and information, find and evaluate alternatives and make sound recommendations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area.
Basic communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Basic skills to analyze and research information and learn to synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
Skills to learn organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Basic program and project management skills.
Acquiring knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
Experience designing, developing, executing and maintaining websites and intranet pages.
Experience drafting correspondence and issuing to large audiences.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $37,900 - $85,300 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $18.15 - $40.85
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
