This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive and remote.

DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Professional Billing Supervisor who will provide oversight on a wide variety of duties related to Information Technology applications, specifically the Epic Resolute Professional Billing, Single Business Office, Claims, Remittance, and Research Billing. Responsibilities include servicing as technical resource to the team; designing, developing, testing, implementing, and evaluating Revenue Cycle Information Systems for the organization. The Professional Billing Supervisor will provide direct supervision to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge.

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives. The Professional Billing Supervisor will report to the Revenue Cycle Manager in the Information Services department and will closely collaborate with Revenue Cycle operations management (Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, Professional Billing, Continuous Improvement, Trainers, Finance, Cashiers, Hospital Billing, Clinical Research Billing, and Single Business Office) as well as third party vendors and other applications teams on a daily basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience: Epic build and Revenue Cycle operations.

  • Epic Resolute Professional Billing Certification.

  • Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Epic Resolute Professional Billing Claims/Remittance Certification.
  • Epic Charge Router Certification.
  • Team Lead or Supervisor Experience.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Revenue Cycle Operations Experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
