Under direction, performs and records all sonographic procedures and/or specialty procedures at an expert level in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions and modifies the exam accordingly to ensure complete and accurate high quality information is obtained. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by usingestablished Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality.
Participates in performance improvement projects within the department. Floats within department as needed. Floats to specialty unit (if qualified). Assists with mentoring of students as needed. -Assists other ultrasound technologists with difficult procedures that requires advanced skills. Provides leadership and mentoring to junior ultrasound technologists. Continually seeks to improve process and assist in various projects as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Duties are to be performed at an Expert Level.
Graduate of a school of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program OR equivalent experience.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS); RDMS in ABD and OB/GYN. Musthave one additional relevant RDMS specialty credential(s): RVT, BR, RMSKS, PS, FE, or specialize in Contrast Enhance Studies, Operating Room Studies, Elastography, Biopsies, Neurosonography and Transcranial Dopplers.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Four (4) years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of sonographyeducation and experience.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
