DESCRIPTION

Under general direction, incumbent serves as unit lead technologist for a designated shift serving as a department resource ensuring tasks are completed according to established protocols. Exercises superior knowledge of radiologic technology. Performs routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment throughout General Diagnostic Radiology, in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. Acts as a Diagnostic subject matter expert and assists other technologists as needed. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist.

Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images and radiographs to ensure technical quality and image quality. Ensures compliance with related policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. Contributes to, and participates in, work organization and quality improvement projects. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent department operations. Demonstrates effective communication and conflict resolution techniques with patients, coworkers, physicians and all other health care members. Assists supervisor and manager with staff meetings, performance evaluations, and other projects as needed. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a school of radiologic technology.

  • California Radiology Technologist of Fluoroscopy (CRT-F).

  • California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R).

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a senior radiologic technologist.

  • Possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

  • Knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.

  • Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven (7) years of experience as a senior radiologic technologist.
  • Hospital experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $104,045 - $129,414 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $49.83 - $61.98

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
