The Principal Information Systems Analyst, a Technical Leader at UCSD Health Sciences, specializes in ServiceNow development and business intelligence (BI) integration. With an in-depth capacity to analyze highly complex problems, the incumbent will design, code, and document highly integrated ServiceNow applications and facilitate enterprise service management processes. The role involves operational excellence, configuring ServiceNow modules, and providing mentorship to other developers, including leading and mentoring junior staff to foster professional growth. Collaborating with business units and IT teams, the incumbent will employ advanced scripting technologies like JavaScript and AngularJS to create robust, scalable, and highly integrated solutions.
This position will play a critical role in enhancing existing ServiceNow applications, working both independently and with process owners on highly complex tasks. The responsibilities encompass developing workflows, conducting root cause analysis, and integrating best practices in areas such as problem and change management. With a high degree of knowledge in ServiceNow, the incumbent will drive automation, innovation, and best practices, aligning delivery with organizational strategies and objectives, and maintaining a commitment to quality and excellence in Health Sciences' highly complex and highly integrated environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Nine years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.
Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; familiarity with relational databases and SQL, and experience AngularJS or Bootstrap development frameworks.
Demonstrated experience with the development, configuration, implementation and support of production and non-production ServiceNow instances.
Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation. Advanced knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate and correct malfunctions involving technology systems. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis.
Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Demonstrated experience with database administration. Advanced knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to highly complex database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases. Knowledge of conceptual database design. Skills necessary to develop procedures and standards relating to database management systems. Skills associated with implementing database enhancements that improve performance and reliability of the system at the software, hardware and operating system level.
Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Demonstrated skill at analyzing and preventing security incidents of high complexity. Strong security skills for protecting the operating system, software, data and hardware.
Knowledge of test application code in client server environment.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.

Technical skill to develop, implement and test disaster recovery functions using backup technologies.
Demonstrated project management skills.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $78,900 - $179,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $37.79 - $86.16
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
