The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) at the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego) is seeking BC/BE pediatrician candidates for a community site part-time position in our non-faculty track.

The UC San Diego PHM Division cares for over 6,000 admitted children to the Rady Children's Main and community. The Division serves the large San Diego County and surrounding areas, and is the sole provider of hospital medicine services at the Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. Division members are the core educators of inpatient pediatric medicine for medical students and residents from UCSD and all surrounding Pediatric and FP training programs. The selected candidates will provide clinical services in a variety of settings which may include daytime hospitalist attending only service, daytime resident service, and night shifts at the Main site and day service and night call from home for the community site. Candidates who are subspecialty BE/BC in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, or have at least 5 years of clinical experience in a robust community or tertiary care pediatric setting are preferred. Applicants should have experience in providing care to patients and families from diverse backgrounds. There are opportunities to participate in non-clinical activities such as quality improvement projects or medical education.
Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent and must be board certified/eligible inPediatrics.
Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license orequivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Current DEA license and current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)certification (or have completed these certifications by their first day).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
