THE DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS, Division of Academic General Pediatrics, Newborn Medicine and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics is seeking clinicians to provide patient care at our two pediatric offices in San Diego.
UCSD Academic General Pediatrics has clinic practices in multiple locations and serves many communities in San Diego. We provide outpatient medical care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults aged birth to 21 years. Our team is comprised of exceptional faculty and staff committed to providing evidence-based clinical care and serves as the main outpatient pediatric teaching site for UCSD medical students and pediatric residents. Academic General Pediatrics also has clinics focused on caring for medically fragile children, lactation support, for children traveling internationally, and immigrant children.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics and have or be eligible for a California medical license as determined by the California Medical Board. The Department has a strong commitment to clinical care and teaching. Assignments will also include supervising and educating residents and fellows in training, participation in division meetings, program planning and development of provider and patient education information. Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour business needs.
Preferred qualifications for this position include 2 years of general pediatrics clinical experience, and a proven ability to work collaboratively across Pediatric disciplines. The preferred candidates will be pediatricians with strong clinical skills and interest in medical student/resident education and teaching. Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages is highly desired but not required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Current California Medical License, or ability and commitment to obtain CA license prior to start date
- Board Certified in Pediatrics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2+) or more years’ experience in general pediatrics practice
- Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Employment is subject to a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, drug screen, immunization screening and TB test.
