DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, Pharmacy Technician in the Allergy Clinic will perform a full range of duties in a specialized functional area. This position entails two primary responsibilities: 1) prepare allergy serums in a USP compliant environment, and 2) performing administrative functions to address medication access issues for allergy, immunology and angioedema medications. Roles may also include but are not limited to review and processing of patient medication requests, triage of medication-related issues within the electronic health records, general support of provider and clinic staff Epic inbaskets, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician.

  • Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

  • 5 years of relevant experience required.

  • Must become CSPT certified within 120 days of hire.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including compounding procedures and sterile techniques.

  • Strong knowledge of Epic electronic health record system and management of inbasket tasks.

  • Must be driven to self-teach with regard to a rapidly changing clinical environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance representatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in using pharmacy software and computer systems for order processing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with prior authorization processes and insurance coverage verification.

  • Must be able to work various hours, hybrid and at multiple locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $62,640 - $77,862 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.00 - $37.29

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
