DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of the pharmacy manager, daily shipping of medications to patients, testing and validating our cold chain medication shipping practices, EPIC prescription order entry, POS sales of prescriptions via EPIC stored credit cards.Duties also include filling delivery ticket orders, staging compound worksheets, pulling the necessary ingredients, packing supplies and medication for Dynamex or Fedex delivery. Coordinates delivery via courier service. Equipment cleaning and testing. Procurement of a wide variety of medical and pharmacy supplies for areas under the purview of the UCSD Specialty Pharmacy Service. Maintains daily control over pharmacy supply inventory stock. Assists in verifying invoices and authorizing payments. Maintains and assists in required record keeping for supply purchasing activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of performing Outpatient Pharmacy related knowledge around duties that include medication shipping and distribution and prescription order entry.

  • Demonstrated fundamental knowledge of procurement practices and procedures.

  • Demonstrated general knowledge of vendor sourcing and negotiation techniques.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with departments, staff, and vendors.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Customer service oriented and team focused.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of warehouse duties in a Outpatient Pharmacy environment.
  • Shipping experience: FedEx / UPS.
  • Basic understanding of medications.
  • Basic understanding of health insurance.
  • Familiar with UCSD systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Medical terminology training and/or certificate. Experience with Epic.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
