RCHSD, a 377-bed level 1 Trauma Center, is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and is the clinical home of UCSD Department of Pediatrics.
We are seeking board-certified/eligible pediatricians to join the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Urgent Care (UC). The candidate will join our UC staff of 12 BC/BE pediatricians. The candidate will be contracted to work at any of our UC sites providing same-day acute care to pediatric patients throughout the San Diego community. This includes scheduled shifts as well as coverage for sick call-ins and patient volume surges. The position offered can be any amount of FTE (full-time equivalent) equal to or above 0.5 FTE as desired by the candidate. RCHSD Urgent Cares consist of 4-6 locations around the county of San Diego and the surrounding areas, increasing our accessibility to the community we serve. The Urgent Care Department holds a close relationship with the RCHSD Emergency Department located at the Rady Children’s Hospital Main Campus. The Division of Emergency Medicine has a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching, and research. Incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into all aspects of the patient care experience is a top priority at our institution.
Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent and must be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics.
Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Current DEA license and current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (or have completed these certifications by their first day).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
