DESCRIPTION

Oversees staff to ensure proper procedures and policies are followed. Coordinates serviceswith other patient care treatment personnel to assure proper patient care. Develops and revises evaluation and treatment standards to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory agency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages staff and operations; implements standards related to patient care, physician and nursing support and equipment usage. Advises employees on interpreting protocols, handling sensitive situations, operating equipment and resolving technical problems.
  • Develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures for department operations. Collaborates with patient care leadership across disciplines to improve workflow and identify system and equipment needs.
  • Provides input for short and long range goals. Implements strategic plans and technology initiatives. Proposes new programs based on industry best practices.
  • Oversees quality assurance testing and monitoring of Radiology technology / equipment. Ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Administers systems for patient information management and image storage. Participates in the selection process for new radiology systems and equipment.
  • Manages fiscal, material and human resources for area (s) of responsibility. Identifies ways to increase efficiency and reduce resources.
  • Represents radiology on a range of initiatives; coordinates services with other patient care disciplines. Collaborates with patient care leadership and / or physicians on issues related to radiology and patient needs.
  • Recommends changes in staffing, executes recruiting and onboarding, verifying new hires meet standards. Updates job descriptions and career series to maintain accuracy. Conducts performance evaluations and defines development goals.
  • Promotes professional growth and advancement for radiology staff, implementing continuing education and training initiatives. Provides mentorship to emerging and new radiology leaders to smooth the transition from clinical roles to formal leadership roles. Educates on the business side of healthcare, while maintaining the care side.
  • Ensure thorough understanding and knowledge of the standards established by the Mammography Quality Standards Act
  • Ensure compliance with CDPH-RHB, ACR and FDA submissions related to the accreditation of a Mammography Department
  • Ensure full compliance with MQSA standard established for reporting, equipment, personal and physicians

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eleven (11) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related area plus seven (7) years of related experience/training to include three years of lead and/or Supervisory experience, preferably in Mammograph setting and overseeing 25 + employees.

  • Familiar with union contracts, budget, accreditation, equipment planning, contract/project management,& licensing experience.

  • Proven experience and proven clinical practice knowledge with applied background in Imaging Services/Mammography.

  • Thorough knowledge of terms, concepts, and protocols.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care setting to improve operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Technologist for Mammography issued by ARRT (R.T (M) (ARRT)).
  • Five(5) years of experience as a Mammo Tech in similar role and setting.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $87,000 - $202,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $41.67 - $97.03

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
