DESCRIPTION
The Lobby Liaison is an integral part of the Guest Services team at UC San Diego Health, responding to patient and guests’ needs, requests and concerns. The Lobby Liaison’s job function is to support patients upon entry into the medical facilities by assisting with wayfinding, directing patients to the correct clinic for appointments, wheelchair mobilization, providing information, delivering items to admitted patient rooms, connecting to appropriate resources and overall visitor management.The Lobby Liaisons ensure a warm and welcoming environment for all who enter. Additional job functions include:
* Utilizing critical thinking and analytical skills to determine the appropriate course of action for a patient or guest* Utilizing Electronic Medical records to assist patients and guests with critical information about their visit* Fostering relationships with UC San Diego Health team members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
6 years of related experience in a fast-paced Medical environment or a hospitality-focused role OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related area, plus 2 years of related experience.
Working knowledge of Patient Relations concepts to perform essential functions efficiently and effectively.
Strong communication skills needed to interact professionally and effectively in the work environment
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Experience with direct patient interaction.
- Familiarity with UC San Diego Health and working knowledge of clinical, professional, and ancillary departments.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $37,900 - $85,300 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $18.15 - $40.85
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
