Under direction, responsible for leading daily operations of rehabilitation department services areas, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Daily responsibilities include supply ordering, management of patient schedule, daily patient assignments, facilitating use of Assistants, overseeing regulatory compliance issues, and other related lead duties. Implements appropriate policies to ensure quality patient care in the absence of staff due to illness or emergencies. Participates in training and program development and represents the department to the medical and general community. Responsible for 1-2 major projects each year to improve operations of Rehabilitation Services (i.e. Performance Improvement). Demonstrates competence in the UC San Diego Health System Core Values and Leadership Core Competencies. Responsible for delivery of physical therapy services including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients.
Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy approved by the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association, eligibility for registration by the National Registry of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Physical Therapist (PT) - issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist to include experience treating simple and complex orthopedic and neurological populations including BPPV, MS, ALS, Parkinson’s Disease.
- Administrative experience and completing daily tasks to enable clinic functioning.
- Outpatient Experience.
- Previous experience in a leadership role where mentoring less experienced staff was required.
- Ability to run meetings, manage departmental scheduling and documented participation in regulatory affairs.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- May flex and float between sites as needed.
